This tour is specifically designed for beer lovers in general or Belgian beers in particular.
In the morning we will drive to Leuven: the home town of the biggest brewery group in the world – AB InBev, and the oldest Belgian University Town. The loveliest spots are the late medieval heart of the town with St. Peter’s church and the wonderful town hall with the city’s mascot: the Fonske statue of a student pouring beer into his head while reading a book!
A little further north, Mechelen is another historical town with the impressive St. Rumbold’s Cathedral and unique town hall. The charming Anker brewery is also located within the old city walls and they also produce a remarkable whisky.
Antwerp is the third city on the tour and its De Koninck brewery, which now belongs to the Duvel group. If time still permits, we can enjoy some old local bars in Antwerp’s historical city centre, such as the Arsenal owned by the same family for several generations, keeping the same ancient spirit, furniture and favorite beers on tap.
When in Belgium, paradise for beer lovers is always just next door.
Time: minimum of 9 hours departing from and returning to Brussels.
According to the season and the day of the tour, brewery visits can be modified or added to the tour.
