One day excursion
The first visit will bring us to one of the most beautiful villages in the Walloon area, Deigné.
The village is composed of stone farmhouses in a remarkable unity and dating for the most part back to the 18th century. Sources and small streams are crossing the village into the Rubicon Valley.
From there we are very close to the holy source and the chapel of Banneux where Maria is said to have appeared 75 years ago. A well-known place for pilgrims from all over the world.
Our road continues to Theux, a small city with origins and a church dating back to the middle ages.
The city is crossed by the Hoëgne River that has its spring in the Belgium high hills and partly crosses Spa.
Spa, world-famous for its water, will be our next visit.
Here we discover the heart of the city but also some of the famous surrounding sources like Tonnelet and Sauvenière.
In order to understand the nature of the hydrographic basin we need to go up to the summit of the country. First to Sart-les-Spa, then up to the Signal de Botrange.
At this place we enter the biggest national park of the country, Les Hautes Fagnes.
A brief walk that invites us to feel and maybe understand a bit of this unique nature located between Belgium and Germany.
Our road will end in the area of Eupen, the center of the German community and the water tank for the whole province.
