When and where does the European history start? Difficult to say, but we can look easily at its heart, way back from the roman invasions to the Franks or the Carolingian dynasty. We can pass by the native land of Charles V or the place of the final Napoleon defeat in Waterloo and discover the latest structures of the European Union.

 

1st day Brussels

  • AM Half day city sightseeing to discover the Grand-Place and the Gilde houses, the Galeries St Hubert, Manneken-pis, the cathedral St Michel, the Sablon squares with the gothic church Notre-Dame, the law court, the Royal palace, Brussels park, Laken Palace and the Mini Europe exhibition, the only park where we can make a whole tour of Europe in a single and unique journey.
  • PM The excursion will continue to Waterloo where Napoleon lost its last battle and where his empire then collapsed.

2nd day Gent - Bruges

  • AM In the morning, a half day sightseeing on foot in Gent to discover the native land of Charles V, the Belfry, the City Hall, St Nicolas Church, the St Michel bridge and to visit the cathedral St Baafs with the world famous Mystical Lamb from the brothers Van Eyck.
  • PM The excursion will continue in Bruges to discover the Grote-Markt, the Belfry and Halles, the Basilica of the Holy Blood, the City Hall, the Beguinage, the Lake of love…. and to enjoy a canal cruise.

3rd day Namur - Dinant - Luxembourg

  • AM The journey to Luxembourg will stop at Namur to see the fortified citadel then to Dinant for its unique scenery and the southern gate of all invasions.
  • PM The tour will arrive in the afternoon in Luxembourg, to have sightseeing near the second administrative centre of the European institutions in Luxembourg City.

4th day Luxembourg - Liège and Maastricht

  • AM Leaving Luxembourg in the morning to Maastricht the journey will stop in Liège for a sightseeing of this Walloon "ardent city"
  • PM In the afternoon we will reach Maastricht where the famous European treaty has been sealed in Maastricht to discover this very cute little town with a 2 hour sightseeing: (the market square, the Onze Lieve and the St Servaas basilicas…) then back to Brussels end of the afternoon.

5thday Brussels

  • AM A visit to the European Parliament with a special guide to understand how exactly this new government works.
  • PM The last afternoon will be free for shopping or to enjoy the city with personal interest.

Lunches and dinners are selected according the proposals.
Guides and assistants can accompany all transfers and sightseeing.
All change of accommodation place is possible
